Big Brothers Big Sisters community raises $725,000 in one BIG night

Over 400 generous donors, board members, Big Brothers, sponsors, and Big Sisters gathered at the Seattle Westin on Saturday evening to invest in young people and mentors. It was an extravagant masquerade full of everything from fantastic gowns & colorful tuxedos to Renaissance jesters.

The evening began with a kick-off by amazing Littles Cameron & Aliyah, who spoke about how awesome their mentors are and debated about which of them was the coolest Little.  Then auctioneer Gee Scott took us through an auction full of exclusive once-in-a-lifetime items like world-class golfing in faraway places, attending the Grammy Awards, and taking trips to some of the most singular hotels out there. Together we were inspired by the story of Big Brother Tony & Little Brother Cheyenne – matched since 1989 – who raised their paddle for $25,000 to pay it forward for other Bigs & Littles to have the kind of life-changing experience they’ve had.  The evening wrapped up with guests dancing the night away and enjoying the sounds of DJ Michael Garcia. Take a sneak peek at some of the pictures here and find the rest on our Facebook page!

Thank you so much to all of our attendees and donors for your gifts and your support. If you weren’t able to join us, here are some ways you can help provide young people with mentors, mentors with the training and guidance they need to support youth, and parents & guardians with the confidence of knowing that their young person has another safe, trustworthy adult in their life.
