
Marisa Arbanas is a senior merchandising and planning executive with more than 35 years of experience at Nordstrom. She currently serves as the Senior Vice President of Assortment Planning and Strategy for Nordstrom Rack, where she leads the planning organization and drives customer-focused, data-informed merchandising strategies across the company.
Marisa is known for guiding complex omnichannel businesses through transformation, building high-performing teams, and leading initiatives that improve efficiency, agility, and financial outcomes. Her leadership has shaped major initiatives across Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack, from assortment planning evolution to new store growth to planning process transformation.
Mentorship has played a meaningful role throughout Marisa’s life and career. She was first inspired by her father, who served as a Big Brother, and has mentored emerging leaders for decades. She strongly believes in the power of mentorship to help young people grow with confidence and purpose.
Fun fact: Marisa grew up in North San Diego County and is always searching for great Mexican food in Seattle, especially fish tacos. If you have a favorite spot she should try, she would love to know.
