IRA Transfer Gifts
Individuals aged 70½ and older to transfer up to $100,000 per year directly from an IRA to nonprofit organizations like Big Brothers Big Sisters of Puget Sound without triggering a federal income tax. Gifts from a Donor Advised Fund (DAF)
A donor-advised fund, or DAF, is a charitable giving program that allows you to combine the most favorable tax benefits with the flexibility to support your favorite causes. Gifts in Honor of a Loved One
What better way to honor a loved one who loves Big Brothers Big Sisters than by helping more kids get the mentor they’ve been waiting for!?! A tribute gift is a meaningful way to convey sympathy to the bereaved, memorialize a loved one, commemorate a special occasion or honor a person’s life and accomplishments. Matching Gifts
Many companies in the Puget Sound area match their employees’ gifts to charitable institutions. Just think, the impact of your gift to Big Brothers Big Sisters may be doubled or possibly tripled! Don’t leave money on the table. Ask the human resources or benefits office at your workplace for more information.
Dollars for Volunteering
If you are a Big Brother, Big Sister, or Big Sibling who works for a company such as Microsoft, Washington Mutual, AT&T, or Starbucks, your employer will give a cash donation to Big Brothers Big Sisters for the hours you spend volunteering. This is a tremendous opportunity for you to double your support of youth mentoring. Ask the human resources or benefits office at your workplace for more information.
Workplace Giving
By making a gift through your company’s Workplace Giving Campaign, you can help change the lives of children waiting to be matched with caring adult mentors. We are registered with most companies, but please contact giving@bbbsps.org if you need assistance.
Corporate Giving
We couldn’t do this work without our corporate partnerships. They provide valuable grants, in-kind donations, employee matches, and volunteers. Corporate Bowl for Kids’ Sake
If you care about kids and are looking for a way to do some team building at the office, then Bowl for Kids’ Sake is right up your alley! For more than 20 years, Bigs, Littles, donors, corporations, and other community members have been raising money for Big Brothers Big Sisters in bowling lanes across the Puget Sound. In-Kind Donations
